Why Movember

When I was 8 years old, my dad was diagnosed with prostate cancer. After several rounds of radiation, he was cleared and has been in remission for 21 years. My family is lucky to have only experienced a glimpse of what many others bear.

For years, I had misconceptions about the Movember Foundation and the story behind the 'staches. I knew it was related to men's health but had no context around how.

A presentation by Doug Prusoff of the Movember Foundation last year schooled me on the multinational mission and advances made in research, development and treatment for prostate and testicular cancer.

More than ever, we need to advocate for self-care to prevent more avoidable health issues.

Our commitment: Globally, the rate of suicide is alarmingly high, particularly in men. Too many men are ‘toughing it out’, keeping their feelings to themselves and struggling in silence. The Movember Foundation is aiming to reduce the rate of male suicide by 25% by 2030, and we want to help them get there. Help us stop men dying too young.
